These are PPA’s published item prices checked September 30, 2026. They are not complete delivered-event quotes. A set price should be compared directly with individual characters rather than automatically applying a per-letter discount to every product.

Three worked examples
- A two-digit birthday: two individual numbers at $49 produce a $98 item subtotal. A balloon surround is a separate line item, not part of that arithmetic.
- A five-letter name: five characters at the listed four-plus rate produce a $225 item subtotal. Repeated letters still require separate available units.
- A wedding LOVE display: the LOVE set is listed at $169. Four individually selected characters at $45 would total $180. Request the named set when that is the message you want.
These examples deliberately stop at the item subtotal. Do not treat a catalog calculation as the final amount payable until the event address, access, timing and any additional services are confirmed.
Build a quote you can compare line by line
Send the same brief to each supplier. A shorter quote is not necessarily cheaper if the services differ. Ask for the exact message, character height, illumination type and rental start and end times, followed by these separate confirmations:
- Delivery and collection for the actual venue address, including access restrictions.
- Who positions the display, connects it and removes it after the event.
- Any stairs, loading-window, parking or late-collection charges.

A four-foot height does not tell you the width of a completed name. Wide letters, narrow letters, spacing and any supports change the arrangement. Request the measured overall width and depth of your exact display. Do not calculate floor space by multiplying letter height by the number of letters.
Sketch three areas: the display itself, the place guests stand for a photo, and the route other guests use to pass it. A long name behind a cake table can become partly hidden, while two initials may leave more room for the people in the photograph. Check the camera view at guest eye level before settling on a position.
Confirm placement, power access and cable routing with the venue and rental team. Keep exits and circulation routes clear. Outdoor suitability and weather arrangements must be confirmed for the actual equipment and location; do not assume illuminated decor is weatherproof.
Choose one focal point, then add supporting decor
