Wedding welcome sign wording should help guests recognize the right celebration and feel invited in. Start with your names and a short greeting. Add the date or a useful destination only when it helps. You do not need to fit your ceremony program, seating chart and thank-you speech onto one entrance sign.
Below are six adaptable wording examples, followed by a proofing checklist and the questions to ask before renting a display. The sample names and dates are fictional. These are copy ideas, not a promise that Party Perfect America supplies custom lettering with every rental.
Six wedding welcome sign wording examples
1. A clear, traditional greeting
A warm welcome to our wedding
Alex Morgan & Jordan Lee
June 12, 2027
Use this when the venue hosts several events or guests may not recognize the room. Full names provide more identification than initials alone. Keep the greeting smaller than the names so the sign still works when someone is approaching with a coat or bag in hand.
2. A relaxed celebration
You made it! Let’s celebrate.
Alex & Jordan

This suits a reception where the invitation already establishes the formal details. Choose wording that sounds like you. A casual greeting can sit on an elegant display; you do not have to add ornate language simply because the frame or flowers are elaborate.
3. Reception only
Welcome to our wedding reception
Alex & Jordan
An evening with our favorite people
Use reception-specific language when the ceremony happened earlier or elsewhere. It avoids suggesting guests missed a ceremony at this location. If dinner and dancing are in different rooms, let a separate directional sign handle that information.
4. A shared celebration with family
Welcome, from all of us
Alex, Jordan & family
Thank you for sharing our wedding day
This leaves space for a family-centered tone without assuming anyone changes their surname. If you want to name children or other relatives, confirm everyone’s preferred wording and check that the additional names remain readable in the proposed layout.
5. A small, intimate wedding
Our day is brighter with you here
Alex & Jordan
Welcome to our wedding
A personal sentence can carry the warmth without a long paragraph. For a restaurant private room or smaller venue, identify the event clearly even if the rest of the wording is informal. Keep the display separate from menus or the venue’s own entrance information.
6. Welcome with one useful next step
Welcome to Alex & Jordan’s wedding
Please join us in the Garden Room

Only add a room name when it is confirmed with the venue. Avoid printing an arrow until the sign position is agreed: a correct arrow in the design file can point the wrong way after installation. Put changing information, such as a delayed start time, on something that can be updated.
What belongs on this sign, and what belongs elsewhere?
| Information | Best use |
|---|---|
| Names and greeting | Main welcome display |
| Date | Optional identification or keepsake detail |
| Guest names and table numbers | Separate seating chart or escort cards |
| Photo or guest-book instructions | At the activity itself |
| Detailed timetable | Program or separate schedule |
For an audio guest book, place the instructions beside the phone rather than expecting guests to remember them from the entrance. Our audio guest book message guide includes prompts for that separate station. The welcome sign should not become the instruction board for every rental.
Proof the wording in the actual layout
Send the designer your final wording with the intended line breaks. Review a proof at the intended proportions, not just a cropped phone screenshot. Ask a second person to read it without explanation. If they struggle to distinguish the names, reduce decorative lettering or simplify the layout before making the sign larger.
- Check spelling, punctuation, accents and the order of names.
- Write the month in words if a numeric date could confuse guests.
- Check contrast against the selected material and surrounding flowers.
- Confirm that the frame, floral trim or stand will not cover the wording.
- For two languages, ask a fluent speaker to approve both versions and the line breaks.
- Approve one final file with a clear version name; avoid sending conflicting edits to different suppliers.
Before the event, ask the venue to approve placement outside its entrance and circulation routes. A display needs its own support footprint; the printed panel size alone does not tell you how much floor space it occupies. Test readability from the actual guest approach, including glare from windows or evening lighting.
Renting the display is not the same as ordering custom text

As checked on October 10, 2026, the Welcome Sign listing is $89, with style options subject to availability. The separate Red & Gold Floral Welcome Sign listing is $249 and describes an approximately 100cm by 200cm metal/acrylic display with floral styling. These are different catalog listings, not interchangeable quotes.
Neither price should be treated as confirmation of personalized printing, lettering changes, delivery, collection or a particular rental duration. Ask which exact item is being quoted, whether the message can be changed, who supplies the text panel, and whether any additional charge applies. Do not apply adhesive lettering to rented surfaces without supplier approval.
Send a complete sign brief
Include your event date, venue address, preferred display, exact wording and a photo of the intended entrance. Ask for an itemized total covering the display, any approved personalization, transport, installation, collection and taxes. Confirm the proof deadline and who signs off the final design.
Browse Decor & Letters rentals to coordinate the entrance with the rest of your event, then send Party Perfect America your welcome-sign brief. A short, accurate message on the right display is more useful than an elaborate design that leaves guests unsure where to go.
